Based in the village of Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims, Maison Egly-Ouriet is a fourth generation, family-run champagne producer currently overseen by Francis Egly. The estate covers approximately 9 hectares of vineyards which are mostly Grand Cru plots in Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay. All the cuvées go through extended ageing on the lees and large proportions of most wines are aged in oak barrels prior to the secondary fermentation in bottle. This the 2003 vintage of their flagship champagne, a creamy, juicy, and round iteration, with plenty of fruity notes.
