Cellar for up to 15 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Benandanti - El Reventón is the most recent venture from the illustrious winemaking duo of Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil. Together, they have worked with and founded such prestigious wineries as Bodega Catena Zapata and El Enemigo. La Reina represents the duo’s first foray into Old World terroir, and the beautiful region of Cebreros, in the heart of Spain. This is the first wine they have released from the Benandanti Winery. Made from 100% Garnacha, it erupts with scents of wild red fruits, rose petals, dried herbs, and fresh minerality. The fruits were fermented in concrete tanks, with no oak ageing. This has created an extremely pure, clean wine, with a bright ruby colour in the glass. On the palate, La Reina is medium-bodied, with good acidity and tangible, finely-grained tannins. It is light and easy-drinking as far as red wines go, perfectly capturing the sunny terroir of San Juan de la Nava village, where the 6.2-hectare vineyard grows. Perfect for those who enjoy the wines of El Enemigo, or any red wine made in a fresh, clear style. Consider pairing it with roast chicken, salty cheese, or a wide variety of tapas.
