Founded by Keith and Alison Hentschke in the late 1990s, Hentley Farm is an Australian wine estate in the western Barossa Valley spanning approximately 150 acres. Thanks to careful analysis of the soil and microclimates, this family-run winery produces a range of exceptional wines, predominantly single-vineyard, expressing the uniqueness of the Barossa terroir. Old Legend is a wine that pays homage to the Grenache grape and its history and tradition in the Barossa Valley. The grapes are sourced from plots E1 and C3, where the vines benefit from eastern exposure and red clay soil with crushed limestone. After manual harvesting and fermentation in used French oak, the wine rests for nine months before bottling. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant, light ruby ​​color and a fragrant, broad aromatic profile with notes of raspberry and cherry, spicy and mineral hints. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant, with a medium body and silky tannins. It is lively and balanced, with a long, pleasantly fruity finish. It is quite versatile in food pairings: try it with pork chops, duck sausages, or roast salmon.
