Cellar for up to 10 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Rosende is a single-vineyard red wine, packed with scents of mixed dried spice, ripe red berries, and herbal underbrush. It is a field blend, containing 85% Mencia and 15% of other varietals, such as Garnacha, Brancellao, and Merenzao. These are emblematic grapes of the northwest of Spain, well-suited to the Atlantic air and the granite-rich soils of the Ribeira Sacra DO. The concept for Envínate was formed in 2005, when the four winemakers met on an oenology course in Alicante. The winery’s grapes are sourced from two regions: Ribeira Sacra in Galicia, northwestern Spain, and the Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa. Both are heavily influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, reflecting the raw, wild character that this winery encompasses. This wine is refined and traditional on the palate, exhibiting finely grained tannins and fresh acidity. It is rich in minerals, with strong hints of pepper, red berries, dried herbs, and tobacco smoke. The finish is long, dry, and satisfying.
