Drink it now or cellar for up to 8 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded in 2005, initially as a wine consultancy, Envinate is today a renowned Spanish winery with vineyards scattered in various parts of the country. The company is characterized by the use of natural winemaking processes without chemicals in each of the four plants. The harvests are manual, the grapes are trodden and the wines are fermented with wild yeasts. The wine, produced in small quantities, is a blend of 90% Mencía with small additions of other local grapes from different vineyards located between 300 and 500 meters of altitude in the Ribeira Sacra on steep slopes facing south. Here the soils are made up of slate, schist, and granite and the vines have an average age of 60 years. The Atlantic climate guarantees the production of extremely pure wines with a strong aromatic character. The wine ages for 11 months in French oak barrels. Envinate Lousas Vina de Aldea is a fresh and fragrant wine. The nose reveals aromas of red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries supported by notes of aromatic herbs, persimmons, cloves, licorice, and anise. In the mouth, the wine reveals an excellent concentration of fruit with spicy notes and ripe tannins. The finish shows a decisive but well-balanced acid vein. Try it with pasta dishes with a rich sauce or with roasted meats.
