Drink it now or cellar for up to 25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Founded in 1888 in Godoy Cruz by Spanish immigrant Don Miguel Escorihuela Gascón, the Escorihuela Gascón is now one of Argentina's world-renowned wineries. The estate owns approximately 80 hectares of biodynamically cultivated vineyards at Finca Cordon El Cepillo and another 150 hectares of vineyards in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, where a winery producing Premium and Ultra-Premium wines is also located. MEG is an elegant blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon from the El Cepillo vineyard in the Uco Valley and the San José vineyard in Tupungato, respectively. After harvest, vinification takes place in 80% new oak barrels, and the finished wine ages for a year and a half in French oak before being bottled and further refined in the bottle. The result is a wine with an intense, deep color, with dark red hues and purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is complex and broad, with notes of plum and cassis, followed by spicy hints of vanilla and clove, Provençal herbs, and some smoky touches. On the palate, it is expressive, concentrated, and intensely fruity. It has a full body and a refreshing, well-balanced acidity. It is soft and round, with velvety tannins and a long, elegant finish. It pairs well with grilled meats, beef entrecote, or braised game.
