Merchant's description

Drink now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Escorihuela Gascon is famed in Argentina for being one of the first producers to start crafting single varietal Malbecs in the 1940s. The estate itself dates back to 1884 and features prime vineyard sites in the Agrelo and Altamira sub-regions of Mendoza. Conditions here are ideal for premium red winemaking thanks to the high altitude and cooling breezes from the nearby Andes Mountains. The President’s Blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Syrah grapes which are all carefully selected from the best vineyards in Tupungato and the Uco Valley. Following vinification the young wine is left to mature in French oak barrels for 16 months prior to bottling. Expect a deep, intense hue in the glass with aromas of blackberries and dark cherries along with hints of vanilla, tobacco, and chocolate. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and complex, with firm, well-structured tannins and a long and satisfying finish. Perfect for pairing with grilled meats, such as a classic Argentinian steak or roast lamb as well as hearty stews and casseroles. The bold nature of this wine also makes it a good choice to cellar for a few more years if desired.
