Located in Adro, in the province of Brescia, the Ferghettina winery was founded by Roberto Gatti and his wife and is now managed by their two children, Laura and Matteo. The winery, one of the most prestigious in the Franciacorta region of Lombardy, owns approximately 200 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, primarily planted with Chardonnay. Ferghettina Rosé is a 100% Pinot Noir wine, sourced from 14 different vineyards located approximately 250 meters above sea level in four municipalities in the Franciacorta region. Here, the vines enjoy a unique microclimate, thanks to the protection of the Alpine arc and the mitigating influence of Lake Iseo. After harvesting, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel, and after a brief resting period, the wine is bottled for secondary fermentation, followed by three years of aging on the lees. In the glass, the wine reveals a pale pink color, brightened by a fine and persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad, lively, and fresh, with notes of wild strawberries alternating with hints of almond and bread crust. On the palate, it is fruity, lean, and clean, with a pleasant freshness and a well-balanced structure. The finish is long and fruity, with a creamy consistency. It is excellent with sushi and raw shellfish, but also with stewed cuttlefish and fish soups.
