Merchant's description

Château Figeac sits on gravel soil, different from Saint-Émilion`s usual limestone and clay, so it usually blends roughly equal amounts of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot rather than Merlot-led wines typical of the appellation. In the widely praised 2015 vintage Figeac`s Cabernet-Sauvignon was outstanding, so significantly more (43%) was included in the blend. Expect ripe black fruit and graphite aromas, a structured, elegant palate with firm but polished tannins, and real ageing potential to 2040 and beyond. Best decanted and paired with roast duck or lamb.
