Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Domaine Geantet-Pansiot is one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy. Founded in 1954 by Edmond Geantet and his wife, Bernadette Pansiot, it is renowned for its exceptional wines with excellent aging potential. Today, managed by Vincent Geantet and his son, the estate covers approximately 22 hectares of vineyards. Gevrey-Chambertin, the estate's flagship wine, is produced from Pinot Noir grapes grown in carefully selected parcels on very stony, iron-rich soils in the heart of the appellation's hillsides. After vinification, the finished wine ages in oak barrels (30% new) for 14 months. The result is a powerful and intense red that reveals a deep ruby color and a broad, fragrant aromatic profile with notes of red fruits and violets, pepper, and leather, followed by woody and spicy hints. On the palate, it is well-structured and expressive. It has good concentration with well-defined tannins and a distinctive minerality. It is fresh, lively, and supple, with a smooth texture and a long finish that evokes hints of undergrowth. It is perfect with grilled duck breast or pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce.
