Domaine Geantet-Pansiot Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Le Poissenot 1996, in magnum, is a Pinot Noir from a stony vineyard located high on the slope of Gevrey-Chambertin. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in new French oak, the wine shows the estate`s preference for concentration and aromatic lift. This bottling presents a bouquet of crushed red berries, violets and a distinct smoky minerality. The larger format has preserved a remarkable level of primary fruit vibrancy, while the tannins have become fully integrated into the lean, energetic palate.
