Merchant's description

Château Gruaud Larose is a Second Growth property located southwest of the village of Beychevelle, within the Saint-Julien appellation. The estate was originally formed in 1757 by Joseph Gruaud and it is currently owned by the Merlaut family. 1989 remains a stand-out vintage. The precocity in maturation and the richness of the grapes were exceptional, producing a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominant blend. Structured by refreshing acidity and fine-grained tannins. Sufficient black fresh fruit despite its maturity with hints of herbal complexity and savoury, tertiary notes. Ready for drinking.
