Merchant's description
Guardian Peak sits in the shadow of Stellenbosch's Helderberg mountain, and this Merlot is exactly what you want from a Cape red at this price point: ripe, generous, and genuinely satisfying without asking anything complicated of you. Dark mulberry and plum lead the charge, with a mocha and coffee character woven through from ten months in second and third-fill French and American oak. The oak is there to support, not to perform, and it does its job quietly.
