Château Haut-Brion 2012 is a red wine from Pessac-Léognan, produced from the estate’s gravel and clay soils that favour both Cabernet and Merlot in equal measure. The growing season was marked by early challenges and a dry, late summer, resulting in fruit of purity and moderate richness. Aromas of blackcurrant, cedar and graphite are joined by tobacco leaf and faint smoke. The palate is refined and layered, with finely textured tannins and balanced acidity giving shape to the ripe, savoury fruit. In double magnum, ageing has been gradual, preserving definition and a poised, mineral-driven finish.
