Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Rouge 2007 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Syrah grapes in the northern Rhône Valley of France. With prized vineyard holdings in the cru of Hermitage (as well as St-Joseph), Domaine Jean-Louis Chave is the pre-eminent name in northern Rhône winemaking. Current custodian of the domaine, Jean-Louis is the 16th generation of Chave family winemakers. "An earlier drinking vintage, this is complex and powerful with plenty of dark stony aromas and gentle dark cherry compote, pepper, ripe plum and chocolate. There is an openness and a softness to the palate with smooth, velvety tannins and a powerful, plum stone finish." James Suckling, 2017
