Seyssuel, just north of Côte-Rôtie, is a historic vineyard site the Ogier family has helped revive, and L`Âme Sœur is their flagship Syrah from these steep, mica-schist slopes. The 2015 offers a perfumed nose of violets and crushed stone, with a full-bodied palate of ripe blueberry and myrtle fruit supported by fine, fresh tannins. Modern in style yet distinctly northern Rhône in character, it is drinking beautifully now and should hold well into the early 2030s. Pair with duck or lamb.
