Château l’Eglise Clinet is now one of the preeminent names in Pomerol thanks to the early efforts of owner, Denis Durantou, which completely changed the fortunes of the estate in the 1980s. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2009 release is a showstopper of a wine. It is generous, rich and immensely complex, offering incredible layers of sumptuous black fruits intermixed with delicious savoury depth. Though approaching its prime drinking window, this has the potential to age for several decades yet.
