Merchant's description

Château l’Évangile is one of the oldest properties in Pomerol with a history stretching back as far as 1741. Its rise to prominence was in large part to the efforts of the Ducasse family, who owned the estate up until 1999 when it was sold to the owners of Château Lafite-Rothschild. In the last decade, the consistency and quality of this estate has dramatically increased and is now producing some of the finest wines in its illustrious history. The 2005 is a fabulous release composed of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. It is rich, multi-layered and complex, with seamless balance, sumptuous texture and an epically long finish. Though perfect to drink now, expect this to continue to evolve for at least another decade if not more. Ideal for collectors and connoisseurs.
