Crafted within the Pomerol appellation, Château La Fleur de Gay is a red Bordeaux wine sourced from ancient vineyard sections on the Chateau La Croix de Gay estate. It emerged as a standalone label in the early 1980s. While initially incorporating a touch of Cabernet Franc for certain vintages, the present iteration of the wine is exclusively composed of 100 percent Merlot. This bottling from the 1983 vintage is the very first release from La Fleur de Gay. It was a warm and sunny year with a long growing season, which led to the production of ripe wines.
