Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. The Chilean winery Lapostolle was founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband after a trip where they discovered a century-old vineyard in El Condor de Apalta. The company, established in 1994, is considered one of the pioneers of quality viticulture in Chile and today owns over 370 hectares of vineyards, producing top-notch wines that fully express the Chilean terroir, yet with a refined French style. The Grand Selection Sauvignon Blanc is made with a small addition of Semillón. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested from vineyards located in the Rapel Valley. After harvest, fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel, where the finished wine then ages for 6 months before bottling. The result is a fresh and expressive wine, distinctive and youthful. In the glass, it reveals a pale straw yellow color with bright greenish highlights. On the nose, the wine shows its aromatic character, releasing citrus and floral notes, tropical hints of passion fruit, and touches of stone fruit, against a background of herbaceous aromas. On the palate, it is juicy and generous, elegant and lively. It has a pleasant, refreshing acidity and good structure. It is balanced with a long finish that recalls notes of mandarin and honey. It is excellent as a summer aperitif with vegetarian appetizers, seafood, spaghetti with clams, or grilled sea bass.
