Château Le Bon Pasteur is a seven-hectare estate in Pomerol, positioned along the border of Saint-Émilion. The vineyards are primarily dedicated to Merlot, complemented by 15-20% Cabernet Franc. Notably, some of the vines were initially planted in the 1950s. Winemaking consultant Michel Rolland, assumed control of Le Bon Pasteur in 1978, although the property had been within the family`s ownership since 1920. In 2013, the estate found new ownership with a Chinese investor, though Rolland continues to serve as the winemaker and estate manager. This specific bottling hails from the 1985 vintage, a year when Pomerol and Saint-Émilion stood out as the best sub-regions.
