Over the last couple of decades, the illustrious 2ème Cru Classé property, Château Léoville Las Cases, has cemented its reputation as one of the most consistent producers of exceptional quality wines in the Saint-Julien appellation. Composed of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 9% Merlot, the 2000 release is intense and broad-shouldered, yet offers superb fruit delineation, delightful savoury nuances and a finish of quite remarkable length and complexity. Still firm and slightly chewy on the palate, this will happily keep for another few decades.
