Château Léoville-Poyferré is a Second Growth estate situated in the Saint-Julien appellation. The property is currently owned by the Cuvelier family, which has a long history in the wine trading business in Bordeaux. This is the 1983 vintage of its flagship wine, a blend composed of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It is a fully integrated expression, revealing notes of old leather, bay leaf, mushrooms and dried red currants.
