Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2012 is a red wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux. This five-hectare vineyard produces a singular expression of the Graves, dominated by a high proportion of Cabernet Franc grown on ancient river gravels and clay. The 2012 vintage underwent whole-cluster fermentation in small, truncated vats followed by ageing in a combination of new barriques, large foudres and clay amphorae. It displays a characteristic mineral salinity and floral elegance, standing apart from its neighbours through its aromatic precision and unique textural finesse.
