Roc Breïa Mâcon-Villages 2024 is a village-level Chardonnay produced by Théo Dancer from the Mâconnais region of Burgundy. Sourced from vines aged between 40 and 70 years on limestone and grey marl soils, the fruit is harvested early to preserve tension and undergoes a slow, extended pressing before fermenting in 350-litre and 456-litre used oak barrels with fine lees. The absence of new wood and the restricted use of sulphur results in a wine of immense purity and reductive energy. The 2024 vintage, marked by a challenging growing season with aggressive mildew, produced a wine of remarkable concentration and crystalline acidity. This bottling presents a lean, saline profile with white flowers and lemon pith, displaying a structural focus typically associated with the Côte de Beaune.
