Marcassin Blue Slide Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2002
Marcassin Blue Slide Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2002 is a dry, light-bodied red from Pinot Noir (California, United States), in the light, fresh reds style. Tannins are soft and acidity fresh; oak influence is some. Those scales describe the wine when young; this is a 24-year-old bottle and its tannin and oak will have softened. Good with duck, salmon, roast chicken, charcuterie.

Having worked at some of the greatest Napa wineries and subsequently forged a reputation as one of the region`s most formidable winemakers, Helen Turley founded her own tiny boutique winery, Marcassin, in 1991. A beautiful Pinot Noir, the 2002 vintage is described by the Wine Spectator as follows, "Shows amazing richness, depth and purity of flavor, with a concentrated mix of blackberry, red plum, wild berry and cherry kirsch. Intense, complex and deftly balanced, with a long, persistent finish."
