Merchant's description

Meursault Les Tillets Roulot 2010 is a village-level Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune, Burgundy. The Les Tillets vineyard sits high on the slope above the village, where thin, rocky topsoil over limestone bedrock forces the vines to struggle, resulting in low yields and high acidity. Jean-Marc Roulot employs a reductive winemaking approach, fermenting in a mix of used 228-litre barrels with minimal new oak, and keeping the wine on its fine lees without regular stirring. This preserves a sharp, laser-like precision and an intense, flinty minerality. On the palate, it offers concentrated notes of green apple, preserved lemon and bitter almond. The finish is long, saline and bone-dry, showing a structural austerity that distinguishes it from the more opulent, fat-forward styles of the lower-lying Meursault sites.
