Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. With its 80 hectares of vineyards spread across Oregon's Willamette Valley, Montinore Estate is America's largest producer of biodynamic wines. Founded in 1982, the winery produces a wide range of premium wines, including several excellent Pinot Noirs, white wines from cool-climate varietals (such as Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer), and red wines from Italian varietals such as Lagrein and Sangiovese. This lively Pinot Gris is produced exclusively with grapes from the estate's own vineyards. After harvest, a period of maceration on the skins follows, fostering greater complexity and structure in the final wine. The finished wine ages for 5 months in stainless steel. The result is a balanced and harmonious wine, vibrant and fresh, with a youthful character and good structure. On the nose, it reveals a fragrant and broad aromatic profile with notes of yellow apple, stone fruit, ripe kiwi, and quince, followed by hints of citrus zest and marzipan on a light undertone of cut grass. On the palate, it is expressive and possesses good complexity. It has a medium body, lively acidity, and a long finish with savory notes. It makes an excellent aperitif and pairs well with a wide variety of vegetarian dishes and lightly spiced Asian recipes.
