Elisabetta Pala’s dynamic and youthful Mora & Memo wine label was founded in 2013 and seeks to capture the beauty of the Sardinian terroir and its characterful local grape varieties. Located in south-eastern Sardinia, Elisabetta’s vineyards are set on gorgeous rolling hills and limestone soils which help to produce focused and pure wines which are ideal for elegant everyday enjoyment. This light and refined Vermentino is a great example of Sardinia’s most popular white wine variety. The fruit is sourced from 30 year old vines planted at around 200 metres of altitude just a few kilometres away from the sea. These conditions help to produce well-balanced and perfectly ripe grapes with plenty of freshness and natural aromatics thanks to the cooling sea breezes and long ripening season. Fragrant hints of sage, rosemary and thyme are the first to emerge from the glass, reminiscent of the herbs that grow wild close to the Sardinian coast. The first sip reveals a crisp acidity and smooth texture with plenty of bright citrus, green apple, and pear notes which end in a clean and refreshing finish. A great aperitif or partner for seafood, grilled fish, or spicy Asian dishes.
