Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 6 years. Serve chilled. Founded by Christophe and Fabrice Delorme in 1986, the Mordoree estate now has a total of 55 hectares of vines spread across a variety of soil conditions, microclimates, and appellations. Today the estate is run by Christophe’s wife and daughter with the help of other family members. Named after the native woodcock bird which was once found all over the southern Rhone Valley, the philosophy of the estate is centred on respect for the natural environment and the family follow both organic and biodynamic agricultural practices. This lively Lirac Blanc is an uplifting blend of Grenache, Clairette, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, and Picpoul grapes which are harvested early to maximise freshness. 10% of the grapes are fermented in oak casks to add extra complexity and a creamy texture to the blend. On the nose there is are charming aromatics of honeysuckle, ripe peaches, toasted almonds, and lemon zest, while the first sip is mouthwateringly refreshing and light on the tongue. The vibrant flavour profile of this elegant white makes it an ideal aperitif as well as a partner for a generous platter of fruits de mer, grilled fish dishes, or a selection of cheeses.
