Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. Serve well chilled. Penfolds partnered with Champagne Thiénot to create this sublime Champagne which reflects the history and legacy of both producers. Founded in Reims in 1985 by Alain Thiénot, Champagne Thiénot was bought in 1988 by Southcorp, the owner of Penfolds at the time. Today it is once again owned by the Thiénot family who continue to work closely with Penfolds. In keeping with the Penfolds approach to multi-regional blending, grapes for this cuvee are carefully sourced from prized Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across the region. Alain spent decades cultivating excellent relationships with local growers, and now his legacy is continued by his children Garance and Stanislas Thiénot. This non-vintage Champagne is composed of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, with grapes typically coming from the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. Made in the traditional Champagne method, this is a versatile and easy-going cuvee that balances zesty citrus and apple notes with hints of brioche and toasted almonds from the secondary fermentation in the bottle. Enjoy as an aperitif or paired with fresh seafood, oysters, seasonal salads, and even heavier dishes like baked cheeses or fried chicken.
