Peter Finlayson Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge Pinot Noir 2024 brings together Peter Finlayson of Bouchard-Finlayson and Peter-Allan Finlayson of Crystallum, linking two important South African Pinot Noir voices in one finely judged release. Sourced from three Ridge sites, including Crystallum’s Cuvée Cinema vineyard, it reflects Bokkeveld Shale soils, close Atlantic influence and dense Dijon-clone plantings, with 100% whole-bunch fermentation adding lifted perfume and firm, savoury grip. The nose opens with wild strawberry, orange peel, cedar smoke and a subtle marine salinity. On the palate, it is serious and structured, with red-fruited clarity, fine tannins, discreet oak spice from 11 months in French barrels and a long, gently smoky finish.
