Merchant's description
This is the same legendary 2020 Petrus, Pomerol`s benchmark Merlot grown on distinctive blue clay that gives the wine its trademark density and silky texture. Deep purple in colour, it offers a lifted bouquet of violets, ripe plum, chocolate, cassis and exotic spice. The palate is rich and layered, with firm, fine-grained tannins and remarkable persistence on the finish. A vintage widely regarded as one of the finest of the last decade, this needs considerable patience; best enjoyed from the mid-2030s.
