Planeta Chardonnay 2024 is a Chardonnay from the Menfi territory of Sicily in Italy. Planeta has been instrumental in modernising Sicilian viticulture, and this Chardonnay serves as an icon of that shift, combining international varietal character with Mediterranean sun. The grapes are sourced from the Ulmo and Maroccoli vineyards, which feature clay-limestone soils rich in pebbles and silt. After soft pressing, the wine ferments and matures in 225-litre Allier oak barrels, 40% new, for 11 months on its primary lees with regular bâtonnage. This process creates a full-bodied profile of tropical fruit and white peach, balanced by a clean, structural acidity that speaks to the altitude and careful vineyard management of the estate.
