Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for at least an hour. Founded in the 1990s, Poderi Colla is a family-run Piedmontese winery based in Alba. The vineyards extend over approximately 28 hectares and are divided into four estates, spread across some of the region's most renowned areas. The Nebbiolo grapes for this Barbaresco come from the Roncaglie cru, one of the most prestigious in the wine-growing district. Located on the hillside rising towards the village of Treiso, between 240 and 280 meters above sea level, the vines enjoy south/southwest exposure and particularly favorable soil and climate conditions, ensuring the production of wines of great depth and longevity. After manual harvesting and vinification with maceration on the skins for 12 to 15 days, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for approximately a year. In the glass, Barbaresco Roncaglie reveals a brilliant, deep garnet color. Its aromatic profile is intense and elegant, with notes of blackberry and ripe berries, followed by floral scents of rose and violet, and nuances of spice and underbrush. On the palate, it is soft, round, rich, and complex. It has velvety tannins and a full body. The finish is long, persistent, and distinctive. Try it with roasted partridge or stuffed pigeon.
