Porseleinberg 2023 is a Swartland Syrah grown on the extreme schist outcrops of the Riebeeksrivier farm utilising 100% whole-bunch fermentation and ageing in foudres. The 2023 vintage in the Western Cape was characterized by a cooler and wetter lead-up to harvest which enhanced the wine`s peppery aromatics and reinforced its vertical iron-like mineral tension. In magnum the reductive power of Callie Louw`s winemaking is further amplified and the wine displays an intense savoury core of black olives and crushed stones with a rigorous tannic grip.
