Merchant's description

Porto Carras Château Le Grand Blanc 2018 is a full-bodied white wine from Mount Meliton near Halkidiki. Boasting more than 450ha of vineyards on the limestone slopes of Mount Meliton, Porto Carras is one of the most influential Greek wineries of the past 50 years. The renowned Bordeaux oenologist Emile Peynaud was a consultant during the estate`s early days. Le Grand Blanc cuvée is a blend of 40% Malagousia, 30% Assyrtiko and 30% the red grape Limnio. The white grapes undergo a short period of skin contact at low temperature before fermentation, while the Limnio is immediately pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel before the wine is racked to oak barrels where it remains for 12 months with occasional batonnage.
