Merchant's description

Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 2008 is a mature-vintage Burgundy white wine from the Puligny-Montrachet appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Now led by Brice de la Morandière – the great grandson of Joseph Leflaive – Domaine Leflaive is one of the most influential estates in Puligny-Montrachet. Leflaive focuses almost entirely on white wines made from Chardonnay, including four Grand Cru and four Premier Cru expressions. "Malic fermentation aromas dominate the nose at present but have no ill effects on the racy, pure, detailed, indeed even chiselled middle weight flavours that also possess good energy and punch on the lingering finish. A fine if not sensational villages." Burghound, 2010
