Domaine Leflaive is one of the leading wine producers in Puligny-Montrachet, focusing almost entirely on white wines made from Chardonnay. Leflaive has currently 22 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares of Premier Cru sites and no fewer than 5 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards. This cuvée comes from ‘Les Pucelles’, where the Domaine owns three biodynamically farmed parcels. The 2000 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered to be a very good one for Chardonnay-based white wines. The growing season in 2000 was characterized by favourable weather conditions, including a warm and dry summer, which allowed the grapes to ripen steadily and evenly.
