Les Folatières is one of Puligny-Montrachet's most celebrated premier crus, sitting high on the slope just below Le Montrachet itself — and Alain Chavy's version is a persuasive argument for why premier cru Puligny can rival its grander neighbours when it's in the right hands. The 2019 vintage gave Burgundy a warm, generous year, and the wines from this site have channelled that ripeness into something concentrated yet precise: white flower and roasted hazelnut on the nose, lemon curd and white peach on the palate, all held together by the chalky, almost electric minerality that defines this part of the Côte de Beaune.
