Created in 1954, ‘Le Quarts de Chaume’ is a sweet wine appellation of the Anjou district in the western Loire Valley. This particular expression comes from Domaine des Baumard, a well-regarded producer based in Rochefort-sur-Loire. On the nose, expect aromas of honey, saffron, and dried apricots. The palate is powerful and viscous, with pungent orange oil, yellow plum, and a zippy acidity keeping it fresh. The 2005 vintage is drinking very well at the moment.
