Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Part of the Ferreira group of companies, Quinta do Vale Meão is one of the most emblematic wine estates in the Douro Valley. The lands, located in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, were bought in 1877 by Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, and the company then passed under the ownership of her great-grandson Francisco Javier de Olazabal and his children in the 1990s. The wine is a blend of the native Rabigato and Arinto grapes, vinified separately. After the harvest, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in small vats. The finished wine then rests on the yeasts for seven months. Meandro Branco is a fresh and young wine that combines the marked acidity of the Arinto grape with the fruity intensity of Rabigato. The result is a lively and lean wine with a brilliant color with greenish tones. The nose is intense with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, green apple, straw, and mineral hints. On the palate, it has a medium body and a silky texture. It is a balanced wine with a pungent acidity and a long and persistent finish reminiscent of mineral notes. It works perfectly with seafood, white fish, and vegetarian recipes.
