Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve chilled. The award-winning Rapaura Springs in Marlborough has previously been named New Zealand Winery of the Year and has won a trophy for the World’s Best Sauvignon Blanc. Previously known for their successful mussel farm in Marlborough, the Nelson family who founded the winery purchased their first vineyard in 2003. Their fruit has supplied many local wineries including the legendary Oyster Bay. The estate today sources and grows grapes across Marlborough’s sub-regions which enables them to create a wide range of different wines. Wherever possible they seek to produce top quality fruit and use minimal intervention techniques in the winery to showcase the character of the terroir. This is their textbook Sauvignon Blanc which is made from the best parcels of each vintage and is fermented in stainless steel tanks to emphasise freshness and delicate aromatics. Ripe passionfruit, guava, pink grapefruit and zingy lemon dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals a mouthwatering acidity, light body and pure, clean finish. The vibrant flavour profile makes this a great choice to serve as a refreshing aperitif or accompaniment to leafy salads, fresh seafood, grilled fish, herby roast chicken, lasagna or aubergine parmigiana.
