Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. The Roger family has been producing wine for centuries: even some historical books mention the name of this family as early as the 17th century. Jean-Max Roger's activity is more recent. Jean-Max has been running the company since the early 1970s when he took over his parents' four hectares. Today the company has 28 hectares in Sancerre and more than 6 in other areas of the Loire (Menetou-Salon and Pouilly Fumé) on white soils, rich in limestone and minerals. The Sauvignon grapes for this wine come from the vineyards in the village of Bué. The Cuvée Genese is a splendid representative of the finesse of Sancerre. In the glass, it shows a delicately golden color. On the nose, the wine reveals delicious aromas of ripe stone fruit and citrus, and then again of white flowers and flint. In the mouth, the wine is fresh and mineral, with good substance and great complexity of flavors. The tasting ends with an elegant and long finish that recalls the aromatic notes felt on the nose. Its sapid flavor makes it the ideal wine for seafood and crustaceans or fish, raw or cooked, but it is also a great aperitif.
