Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Founded in 1900, Domaine Hubert Brochard is located in Chavignol in the Loire Valley and covers a total area of over 90 hectares divided between the Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé appellations. The estate was acquired by the Bollinger Group in 2022. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from the Château de Thauvenay vineyards, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation, opposite Pouilly. Here in the Terres Blanches plots, the vines benefit from deep clay-limestone soils and a continental oceanic climate with mitigating influences from the river. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve the aromatic freshness of the grape, and the finished wine ages for 5 months. Sancerre Terres Blanches is a wine with an expressive and vibrant character. In the glass, it reveals a medium-intense yellow color and a broad and exuberant aromatic profile with lively notes of citrus and white flowers, with some subtle exotic touches. On the palate, it is voluptuous and round, generous and fresh. It has well-balanced acidity and a long, persistent finish that recalls notes of exotic fruit. It is excellent as an aperitif on its own, or paired with tomato tarte tatin, goat cheese, and mixed summer salads.
