Sand Boy comes from the Salnés Valley, the cool, green heart of Rías Baixas on Spain's Atlantic coast, where granite soils and constant sea breezes give Albariño its trademark freshness and salt-tinged lift. It's made by Citizen Wine, an organic, sustainability-minded label, and it has become one of our genuine everyday favourites - the bottle people come back for. The approach is all about keeping things fresh and pure. The grapes are picked early to hold on to their natural acidity, fermented in stainless steel with no oak, and the wine is bottled young to capture Albariño at its brightest. Nothing gets in the way of the fruit. In the glass it's pale and bright, with green apple, white peach and a squeeze of citrus over a clean, gently saline finish. Light, zesty and very easy to drink, with just enough texture to give it substance. Serve it well chilled, around 8°C.
