Sassicaia 2011 is a full-bodied Supertuscan red wine from the Bolgheri sub-region of Tuscany, central Italy. Sassicaia is the flagship of Tenuta San Guido and an icon of Italian wine. The typical blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) aged for 24 months in French oak barriques is characterised by all the hallmarks which have established this wine as one of Italy’s icons. sumptuous fruit, fine texture, beautiful perfume and effortless balance. A classic – here presented in magnum format. "The 2011 Sassicaia comes from a vintage with a cold winter, a mild spring with abundant rains and a very good difference in temperatures between night and day during the summer and there were sunny days during the harvest. You can feel this sunny bright personality in the wine. The nose is open and accessible with aromas of bright red fruit and cream. On the palate there are contrasting flavours which are a little green and firm but these are enveloped in a luxurious texture and weight." Decanter, 2022
