Scarecrow was first released in 2003 and is an ultra-premium Cabernet Sauvignon from old dry-farmed vines on the J. J. Cohn Estate in Rutherford, most of which was planted in 1945. 2015 was a sublime vintage in the Napa Valley and this is an almost perfect expression of Cabernet. It is exuberant and opulent, wafting seductively from the glass with extraordinarily complex aromas of black cherry, raspberry, cassis, vanilla, sweet earth, tobacco and violets. Rich, full-bodied and sumptuous, it is broad and velvet-textured, with immense youthful appeal but more than enough stuffing to age incredibly well.
