Drink it now. No need to decant it. Located in the Kakheti wine region of eastern Georgia, the Tiko winery was founded in 2017 by the Chychynadze brothers, who, after a long experience in the wine business abroad, decided to start their own company. The young winery focuses its production on indigenous Georgian vines, such as Saperavi and Rkatsiteli, and traditional Georgian winemaking methods such as maceration in Qvevri. Tiko Estate's Pet Nat is produced with grapes selected in the vineyards of the Kakheti area, a region with an ancient winemaking tradition thanks to the peculiar pedoclimatic conditions that are particularly favorable to quality viticulture. The wine, bottled during fermentation to encourage the formation of bubbles, has a light yellow straw color. It is fresh and delicately floral on the nose, but also reveals aromas of stone fruit, green apple, and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is lively with a pleasant effervescence and a good mineral vein. It has a moderate and perfectly balanced acidity and a delicious sweetish aftertaste. It is light, even in terms of alcohol content, which makes it the ideal wine to accompany a brunch. It is also excellent with smoked fish. Alternatively, serve it well chilled for a perfect summer aperitif.
