Trentham Estate’s 2024 Chardonnay is a nicely balanced, easy-going Australian Chardonnay, with plenty of ripe fruit without going down the overly rich, buttery route. Expect tropical and stone-fruit notes – peach and nectarine – with a touch of soft, spicy oak. Medium-bodied, fresh and rounded, with good acidity keeping everything lively on the finish. The fruit comes from Trentham’s Murray Darling vineyards, with a portion fermented in 500-litre French oak puncheons before blending. A very good all-rounder: try it with roast chicken, grilled trout or a creamy mushroom pasta.
